Automated Guided Cart Control

Adding new parts to an assembly line sometimes causes problems with space requirements.

When a lack of space prevents new assemblies from being readily available, production engineers can now move the parts off the line.

An automatically guided cart (AGC) delivers new assemblies between the off-line area and the main production line.

Description

Banner’s Wireless SureCross DX80 Gateway System is a user-friendly and straightforward solution to the AGC control issue.

The SureCross Gateway is connected to a PLC and a Node connected to field I/O at each stop station. This system requires only one cable run per stop station.

The wireless network greatly reduces the installation time and, as requirements change, other stop stations can be added by installing another Node and introducing it to the wireless network.
